Role Description:
The Account Manager serves as the central point of coordination for assigned customers, building long-term, trusted relationships while ensuring customer requirements are effectively managed across the organization. This role works closely with customers and internal teams to manage day-to-day business, address risks and priorities, support new product introductions, and identify opportunities for sustainable account growth.
The Account Manager acts as an advocate for the customer while balancing operational requirements, profitability, and company objectives.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, managing day-to-day communication, inquiries, priorities, and concerns.
- Build and maintain productive, professional, and long-term relationships with customers.
- Coordinate internally to ensure customer requirements, commitments, and expectations are clearly communicated and addressed in a timely manner.
- Monitor customer orders and open production issues, proactively communicating status, risks, and changes.
- Investigate customer service issues and coordinate with internal teams to support timely resolution.
- Facilitate communication between customers and internal teams to resolve issues, manage expectations, and maintain project momentum.
- Collaborate with management to develop and execute account engagement plans that support customer retention and growth.
- Manage customer RFQ activity, including the preparation of new quotations and requoting of existing product lines.
- Drive follow-up activities on quotations, forecasts, and business opportunities to support revenue objectives.
- Support commercial discussions and negotiations for new and existing business.
- Coordinate customer New Product Introduction (NPI) builds from initial handoff through completion, working closely with internal teams to manage requirements, timelines, and customer communication.
- Coordinate the communication of manufacturing feedback, including DFM considerations and recommendations identified through the NPI process.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of customer products, programs, forecasts, and product lifecycles.
- Monitor account performance, risks, opportunities, and overall business activity and provide regular account status reporting.
- Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to identify opportunities to retain, expand, and grow existing customer accounts.
- Maintain accurate and current customer, opportunity, quotation, and account information within company systems.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3–5 years of experience in account management, customer service, sales, or a related customer-facing role.
- Previous experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, contract manufacturing, or a related technical manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of customer relationship management and the ability to balance customer expectations with operational and commercial requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Robust interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional activities and drive issues toward resolution.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing customer and business priorities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience working with CRM, ERP, or other business management systems is considered an asset.
