Empower urban Indigenous students as a Support Worker with the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre's Alternative Secondary School Program. Use trauma-informed practices to help youth achieve their academic goals. In this role, you will assist with the coordination and delivery of quality educational services.
Collaborating closely with the Lakehead District School Board, you will facilitate engaging activities that inspire and support the youth. Your background in community service and education will enhance the experience for students. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and coordinate quality educational programming
- Work with community partners to optimize student engagement
- Prepare reports and document program progress
- Facilitate workshops and educational events
- Foster positive relationships with urban Indigenous youth Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Social Services preferred
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Familiarity with Indigenous culture and issues
- Robust case management and organizational skills
