Aquatics Attendants play an important role in ensuring the safe operation and proper use of the Flow Rider and Waterslides at H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre. This position provides exceptional customer service while monitoring participant safety, supporting aquatics programming, and fostering positive relationships with members and guests.

As part of the Aquatics team, you may also have opportunities to assist with YMCA swim lessons and support other aquatics programs as needed.

- Location: H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre, Kelowna, BC
- Schedule: Part-Time, hours vary

What You Will Do

- Ensure the proper use and safety of members and guests on the Flow Rider and Waterslides.
- Demonstrate safe operating procedures and equipment use when required.
- Monitor participant compliance with facility rules and safety guidelines.
- Work collaboratively as part of the Aquatics staff and volunteer team.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all members and guests.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and build positive relationships with participants.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns.
- Assist with YMCA swim lessons and aquatics programs as needed.
- Support the YMCA's mission, values, and commitment to community wellness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within designated program areas.

What You Bring

- Bronze Cross Certification.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C.




- YMCA Canada Swim Instructor certification considered an asset.
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification considered an asset.
- National Lifeguard Certification, Pool Option, considered an asset.
- National Lifeguard Certification, Waterpark Option, considered an asset.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- A genuine commitment to safety, customer service, and community engagement.

Additional Requirements

As part of the YMCA's commitment to trust, safety, and equality, successful candidates will be required to:

- Provide three professional references (Employer, Supervisor, or Colleague).
- Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search issued within six months of the start date.
- Complete all required YMCA orientation and safety training.
