Assembler II
Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada
Shift: 2nd Shift, 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Contract Duration: 12 months
Job Summary
We are seeking an Assembler II to perform mechanical and electrical assembly of equipment, components, and subassemblies in a manufacturing setting. The role requires the ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics while ensuring products meet quality and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of electrical equipment, assemblies, and subassemblies.
- Mount equipment inside enclosures and perform drilling, tapping, and panel preparation as required.
- Build wire harnesses and cables, including crimping, routing, and securing wires and cable assemblies.
- Assemble electrical devices and wire control panels using engineering schematics and work instructions.
- Read and follow assembly drawings, instructions, and process requirements with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot wiring issues, identify assembly errors, and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Prepare completed products for shipment, including packaging, audits, and movement of materials to the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate inventory and perform material transactions using SAP.
- Identify, tag, segregate,
and move defective or nonconforming materials to designated locations.
- Support quality reporting and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Maintain 5S standards and participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Follow ESD/anti-static protection requirements when handling sensitive components.
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving production and assembly issues.
- Maintain accurate WIP inventory and ensure production lines receive required material kits and documentation.
- Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and manufacturing procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing/assembly experience.
- Electrical or electronics background is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Basic computer skills; experience with SAP is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and adapting to different assembly activities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly bend, stretch, and perform physical assembly tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. as part of daily duties.
- Must follow all workplace safety, quality, and workmanship standards.
