Description The Faculty of Nursing, University of Calgary, invites applications for one position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching, tenure track) or Associate Professor (Teaching, with tenure). The appointment will ideally commence July 1, 2027, or at a mutually agreeable date. Candidates will be assessed against the qualifications and requirements for the advertised rank(s) for which they may qualify.

Candidates must have either a Master's Degree in Nursing or a Doctorate in Nursing or other related discipline (e.g., EdD) and must be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta.

Applicants at the Assistant rank will be early career academics who have previous professional and teaching experiences in nursing academia or clinical practice. Applicants will have evidence or promise of teaching effectiveness or competency in teaching and learning (e.g., as part of a teaching dossier), an awareness of how to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning practices, participation in reflective practice, and professional learning activities related to teaching and learning. The rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) requires engagement in the research and scholarship required to maintain currency in pedagogy and curriculum design as well as engaging in other scholarly professional or creative activities that strengthens and informs the academic staff member's knowledge base and expertise.

Applicants at the Associate rank will be mid-career academics with clear evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., as part of a teaching dossier), a demonstrated ability to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning and student engagement, experience designing student learning experiences and assessment strategies, and engage in scholarly, professional, or creative activities that inform and expand the academic staff member's knowledge base as an Associate Professor (Teaching). Applicants will have evidence of implementing creative teaching strategies that support student learning and have demonstrated ability to create respectful and inclusive learning environments that promote student engagement.

The successful appointees will also have experience in a variety of modalities including classroom, clinical and simulation.

The Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary aims to be world leaders in women's health. Candidates at either rank must have a demonstrated scholarly focus on women's health within their particular area of specialization. Particular areas of interest for the faculty under the women's health umbrella include:

- Menstrual and sexual health
- Menopause and healthy ageing
- Women's heart health
- Mis/dis information
- Chronic pain
- Mental health and reproductive transitions
- Indigenous women's health
- Black and racialized women's health
- Innovation in women's health

Position Responsibilities The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and learning across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Responsibilities will include classroom, clinical,



and simulation-based instruction; course coordination and curriculum development; student assessment, feedback, and mentorship; and the implementation of evidence-informed and innovative teaching practices. The appointee will engage in scholarship related to teaching and learning, maintain currency in pedagogy and curriculum design, and contribute to the advancement of nursing education. The successful candidate will participate in Faculty and University service activities and foster respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.

The candidate will also contribute to the Faculty's strategic focus on women's health through their teaching, scholarship, and academic service.
