Overview The Associate Accountant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Finance and Accounting Administration; financial reporting, reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Job Cost, General accounting, posting journal entries, compiling, and analyzing account information and performance analysis utilizing Power BI and power query functionalities. This position is an individual and team contributor role requiring “can do” attitude and self-motivated learner. The position reports to the Sr.
Accounting
Manager.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with other Finance team members to maintain the integrity of all financial operations.
- Analyzing and summarizing General Ledger account information, prepares reconciliations
- Conducts research and analysis as requested
- Review/post Intercompany A/P & A/R transactions
- Review/post journal entries and Client Receipts
- Utilize JD Edwards or other Integrated Accounting Software System
- Adheres to company policies & procedures
- Assists employees and managers as required
- Performs additional tasks and assignments as requested
Local Requirements
- Accounting background preferred
- This is an in-office position at the Fort Saskatchewan Office
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software is desired (Excel)
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to meet work requirements within established timelines
- Communicate effectively verbally, and in writing
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Solid work ethic and positive team attitude
- Self-motivated, organized quick learner
