Role Description The Automation Engineer will work on-site in Lloydminster, AB in a full-time capacity, supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of automation and control systems for oilfield and industrial facilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and programming control systems, PLCs, and HMIs, commissioning new installations, and integrating electrical and instrumentation components. The role involves diagnosing system issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.

The Automation





Engineer will collaborate with electricians, technicians, and project managers to deliver projects on schedule, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Occasional field work, client site visits, and participation in after-hours support may be required to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for automation and control systems.
- Knowledge of process control principles and experience with industrial control loops and instrumentation.
- Background in electrical engineering, including power distribution, motor control, and panel design an asset.
- Hands-on experience with automation technologies such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial communication networks.
- Rockwell Allen Bradley, Plant PAX, Wonderware experience an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs;, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to work on-site and occasionally at remote client locations.
