We are hiring a part time barista position for our busy, fast-paced café in downtown Halifax with additional shifts at our second location within the Discovery Centre.
Hours that will be scheduled generally run from 7:30am - 3:30pm (Monday through Saturday) or shorter shifts that fall within that time frame, or 8:45am - 4:30pm at our Discovery Centre shop.
Responsibilities include
- Selling food and drinks including alcohol and espresso drinks
- Dialing in espresso machine
- Maintaining quality and tracking inventory
- Complying with food safety
- Accurately completing cash-out procedures
- Maintaining clean work space
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience working as a barista for at least six months, and experience dialing in an espresso machine to achieve the best flavour and balance is an asset
- Naturally friendly, outgoing, and welcoming
- Great sense of customer service and hospitality
- Clean and organized
- Detail oriented
- Great at multitasking
- Accurate with cash
- Ability to work independently
- Common sense
Pay Pay is competitive, plus tips. Pay is biweekly and tips are distributed weekly, divided equally among all positions, based on hours worked.
A valid food safety certificate is a plus, but if you do not have one, we can help you arrange to get one.
