New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to support our client’s IT Data Analytics team in the design, development, and delivery of modern business intelligence, enterprise data warehouse, and analytics solutions.
The successful candidate will work across Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, SQL Server, SSIS, and Power BI, translating business requirements into technical specifications and building end-to-end data integration and analytics solutions. This role will involve modern cloud-based analytics as well as an existing on-premise data warehouse setting and will work closely with internal corporate stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and solution designs.
- Design and develop modern analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, data lakes, data warehouses, data pipelines, and Power BI.
- Design and implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers using Medallion Architecture principles.
- Design data models and semantic models based on business and technical requirements.
- Develop end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, integration, and analytics solutions.
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows, notebooks, and SSIS where appropriate.
- Transform and load data into Microsoft Fabric Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, and analytical data stores.
- Develop error handling, monitoring, and data quality controls for data integration processes.
- Configure and support Power BI security, semantic models, dashboards, reports, workspaces, Dataflows, and DataMarts.
- Develop Power BI reports and automate data source refresh configurations.
- Analyze source systems to identify data transformation and integration requirements.
- Explore and implement advanced Microsoft Fabric capabilities for analytics, reporting, and data engineering.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day Microsoft Fabric, data warehouse, data pipeline, and data integration issues.
- Design and support reusable frameworks for on-premise enterprise data warehouse environments.
- Prepare technical designs, documentation, and technical specifications.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and provide technical advice and assistance related to BI and data analytics solutions.
Mandatory Requirements
- Extensive business intelligence and analytics development experience using Microsoft Fabric.
- Robust experience architecting and delivering Business Intelligence and/or Enterprise Data Warehouse (BI/EDW) solutions.
- Experience designing and implementing reusable frameworks for on-premise data warehouse environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and design considerations for data storage and processing.
- Experience designing relational, analytical, and semantic data models.
- Experience building complex data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Extensive development experience with SSIS and SQL Server.
- Experience integrating data using REST APIs.
- Experience working with OLAP cubes and BI analytics tools.
- Advanced experience with Power BI Service, including Dataflows and DataMarts.
- Strong Power BI report development experience, including automated data refresh configurations.
- Experience analyzing source systems and identifying data transformation requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare technical designs and write detailed technical specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with the broader project and analytics teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with organizational data and information.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform.
- Relevant Microsoft, Power BI, Fabric, data engineering, or business intelligence certifications.
- Experience working across both up-to-date cloud analytics environments and traditional on-premise enterprise data warehouses.

The hourly rate range for this position is $55 - $75 per hour with the final rate based on consultant experience and fit for the role.
