The Business Systems Coordinator will be responsible for administration and analysis of rental & asset software, inventory file maintenance, and providing an exceptional internal and external customer service experience.
The successful candidate will have a robust affinity for technology, the ability to bring forward innovative ideas to improve processes and be able to take ownership of the documentation of system changes. Collaboration with the NorthStar team will be essential in this role, which can be located in either Edmonton or Calgary.
Reporting to: Business Systems and Operations Manager
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Daily management and maintenance of asset related software systems (Texada & Titan).
- Train system users on NorthStar Rental System (Texada) use and implementation.
- Assist, organize, and oversee NorthStar annual asset inventories.
- Advise and help define NorthStar standard operating procedures, best practices, and workflow for all departments.
- Review and drive continuous improvements, automate processes, and implement system changes to improve internal system operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain system procedures and documentation of all system changes.
- Identify opportunities to innovate and streamline, improving the delivery of our customer service.
- Document system governance policies and apply them consistently across all NorthStar systems ensuring compliance with corporate policies, processes, and procedures.
- Assist and track company fleet maintenance records and monthly km logs.
- Work closely with finance and IT teams in file maintenance and asset management.
- Incorporate controls into Standard Operating Procedures to safeguard assets to prevent loss, theft or damage.
- Maintain a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be acquired.
- Assist with interbranch communication as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Interest in understanding market trends and how best to maintain an industry leading rental fleet to best serve internal and external customers.
- Detail and goal-oriented, highly organized.
- Committed to achieving goals and continuous quality improvement.
- Develops and fosters professional relationships with peers, customers, vendors and management.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office systems.
- A clean and valid class 5 Alberta driver license is an asset
- 2-3 years of rental industry experience would be preferred
- Previous hands-on experience with construction equipment and machinery is an asset.
- Experience in Texada or other asset management software programs would be an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks in an effective, organized manner with the ability to multitask.
- Demonstrate, professionalism, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible approach and analytical ability to problem solving.
- Display a high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
