Walks come to your phone and you take the ones that fit your week. That is the whole job.
Doggy Tales Whistler runs small-pack off-leash walks, private adventure walks, drop-ins and sleepovers for local dogs in Whistler and Pemberton. Our casual walkers cover the gaps: a client books last minute, a regular walker is away, a long weekend fills up. You pick up what suits you.
WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE
- Small-pack off-leash walks on Whistler and Pemberton trails. Six dogs maximum, never more.
- Pick the dogs up, drive them to the trailhead, walk them, get them home dry and fed.
- Log the walk and send the owner a note and a photo.
- Most walks run 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Some are 25-minute drop-ins.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Your own reliable vehicle and a valid Class 5 licence. Casual walkers drive the dogs themselves, so this one is not negotiable.
- Real off-leash experience. Reading body language, solid recall, ending a scuffle before it starts.
- The fitness for 10 to 15 km on a mountain trail in the rain.
- A phone you actually answer.
DogSafe or canine first aid is a bonus. If you do not have it, we will train you.
PAY
Commission on every walk, which works out to roughly $25 to $35 an hour plus tips. Paid every two weeks by e-transfer.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
- Leashes, treats, towels and a trail first aid kit.
- Paid training alongside a senior walk leader before you take a pack out on your own.
HOW TO APPLY Please do not email a resume. Fill out the application on our site instead. It takes about five minutes and covers your availability, your experience with dogs, and a few scenario questions:
