Department: Norwest Early Learning and Child Care Centre

Location: 105 Lucas Ave

Position: Childcare Assistant -INCLUSION SUPPORT (Indefinite Term)

Hours: 7am to 9am and 3:30pm-5:00pm, full day shift on in-services and Holiday Breaks

Shift: available between 7:00am-5:00pm

Salary: As per CUPE contract

Qualifications

- Classification as Child Care Assistant
- Strong interpersonal, team building, and communication skills
- Current first-aid and CPR certification (Level C)
- Good understanding of Manitoba Child Care Program’s Regulations
- Must be energetic, friendly and enthusiastic
- Must be willing to take initiative
- Experience working with inclusion supports an asset
- Subject to successful criminal record with vulnerable sector search & child abuse registry check.
- Must complete mandatory 40-hour course approved by Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care (within first 6 months of employment)




- Must complete Commit to Kids online training immediately upon hire

Responsibilities
- To ensure the physical care and safety of the children.
- To provide emotional support and nurturing care to children
- To provide children with the chance for growth and development
- To follow Centre’s behaviour management policy
- To maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, to know and follow Centre policies and procedures.
- To work with a team of professionals to meet the individual needs of children who require additional supports.
- Communicate regularly with families
- To work directly with children and families who require additional supports
- Other duties as assigned
