Role Description The Clinical Pharmacist role at Shoppers Drug Mart in Kelowna, BC is a unique opportunity to practice in the city's only Pharmacy Care Clinic. This full-time, on-site position is focused on delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients. Full autonomy over creating clinical programs of interest to deliver to patients.

We have created our own Menopause Consults for example that the previous clinical pharmacist pioneered. Personalized travel health programs are coming from our other clinical pharmacists' creation. Fresh new business of only 2 years, we have the time to focus on being innovative to bring good value and care to our patients.

Located within the Upper Mission family focused neighbourhood . We were awarded Bronze in the Best of Kelowna Pharmacies 2026.

Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and dispensing prescriptions, performing clinical assessments, providing medication therapy management, and ensuring safe,



appropriate use of medications.

The Clinical

Pharmacist will counsel patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications, manage drug interactions and contraindications, and collaborate with prescribers and other health care professionals to optimize therapy outcomes. The role involves maintaining regulatory and documentation standards, and contributing to health promotion and patient education within the community.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated competence in Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy operations, including dispensing and patient counseling.
- Strong knowledge of Pharmaceutical Care and Medicine, with the ability to assess therapy, monitor treatment, and manage drug-related problems.
- Experience with Compounding and preparation of customized medications in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist with the relevant provincial regulatory authority in British Columbia.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and provide clear patient education.
- Attention to detail, strong clinical judgment, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail pharmacy workplace, manage multiple priorities, and use pharmacy information systems effectively.
- Previous experience in a community or clinical pharmacy setting is an asset; additional certifications in clinical pharmacy or patient care programs are beneficial.
