In this role, you will work as a Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT) within KO communities, focusing on individualized academic and developmental support for students.
Your responsibilities include developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), leading after-school activities, and ensuring effective collaboration with educational staff and community partners. Your efforts will significantly enhance student achievement and retention. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instructional support for secondary subjects
- Facilitate IEP development with education partners
- Coordinate special education services for students
- Develop transition and retention strategies for students
- Communicate regularly with community and educational stakeholders Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree
- Eligibility for Ontario College of Teachers certification
- Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience
- Special Education Qualifications preferred
