Under the direction of the Director of Technical Services, the Control Systems Manager serves as the organization's lead resource Subject Matter Expert for Building Automation Systems (BAS), controls integration, controls programming, and controls-related product initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting Service, Engineering, Product Management, and Operations while establishing the foundation for Systemair's future controls organization.

The successful candidate will combine practical BAS programming experience with strong project coordination and customer-facing skills. They will support controls-related troubleshooting, develop and maintain programming standards, assist with product integration initiatives, review controls strategies and sequences of operation, and provide technical leadership across the organization. While initially functioning as an individual contributor,



this position is intended to evolve into the leadership role for a future controls team as Systemair's controls capabilities continue to expand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Serve as Systemair's primary resource for Building Automation Systems (BAS), controls integration, and controls-related technical support.
- Develop, maintain, and support BAS programming, control sequences, and controls standards across Systemair products and projects.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for controls-related service issues, customer escalations, and field integration challenges.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Service, contractors, and customers to support controls integration and product development initiatives.
- Review controls specifications, sequences of operation, and BAS requirements to ensure compatibility with Systemair products and customer applications.
- Develop and maintain controls documentation, programming templates, training materials, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Service and Engineering teams while helping build internal controls knowledge and capabilities.
- Support the long-term growth of Systemair's controls capabilities, including future team development, standards ownership, and technology strategy.

Skills, Education, and/or Experience

- Minimum 5 years of Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience in service, programming,



commissioning, or systems integration environments.
- Hands-on experience with one or more major BAS platforms such as Niagara Framework, Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens Desigo, Schneider EcoStruxure, Honeywell, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, sequences of operation, and building automation applications.
- Experience programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning BAS systems and integrations.
- Trade certification (Electrician, Refrigeration Mechanic, Instrumentation Technician) or related technical diploma/degree considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, adapt to evolving customer requirements, and quickly become proficient with new BAS platforms, control systems, and product applications.

Job Conditions

Physical Demands:

- Moderate physical effort – able to lift up to 10lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting as a desk and looking at a computer.

Work Environment:

- Factory, Warehouse, Distribution Center, Office.
- May be exposed to loud, repetitive sounds from machinery or equipment.
- Remote travel up to 25% in North America.
