Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily feeding, watering, and general care of dairy cattle to promote health and productivity
- Perform routine milking procedures using farm machinery, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency
- Conduct regular inspections of farm equipment and machinery, performing basic maintenance or reporting issues promptly
- Handle heavy lifting tasks such as moving feed bags, cattle supplies, or equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain clean and organized barn areas, ensuring a safe environment for animals and staff
- Monitor animal health, identify signs of illness or distress,
and report concerns to farm management
- Support pasture management activities including fencing repairs as needed
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with farm machinery is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively in various weather conditions
- Prior experience working on a farm or with livestock is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Basic understanding of animal husbandry practices preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards safety and efficiency
