Role Description This is a contract, on-site role for a Data Engineer & BI Analytics professional based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, including Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, to ensure timely and accurate data flow across systems. The individual will develop and optimize data models and data warehouses to support reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
Day-to-day responsibilities include working with stakeholders to understand data requirements, performing data analysis to support business questions, and ensuring data quality,
security, and compliance. The role also involves collaborating with BI and analytics teams to enable self-service reporting, troubleshoot data issues, and continuously improve data architecture and performance.
Qualifications
- Strong Data Engineering skills, including building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL workflows.
- Experience with Data Modeling and Data Warehousing to support reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
- Proficiency in Data Analytics, including querying, profiling, and interpreting data to generate insights.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java).
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools (e.g., cloud data warehouses, data integration tools, BI tools).
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Toronto Area and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data quality and governance.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
