We are seeking a
Junior Financial Analyst
to support full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, reconciliation, and financial analysis activities. The successful candidate will work with accounting and business teams to ensure accurate financial information, support month-end processes, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post
journal entries
and support month-end accounting activities.
Assist with
month-end financial reporting, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations .
Support
Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), business partner maintenance, and capital asset maintenance .
Review accruals and trial balance accounts and investigate discrepancies or abnormalities.
Support customer collections and related financial activities.
Perform
variance analysis
and identify areas requiring further investigation.
Analyze and interpret financial information to support business decisions.
Work with business teams to gather information for
budgeting and forecasting .
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.
Support financial operations and reporting requirements across the organization.
Perform other accounting and financial analysis duties as required.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or diploma in
IT,
Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain , or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of
accounting principles and Canadian public-sector accounting standards , or equivalent.
10+ year
of experience using advanced Microsoft Excel functions such as
PivotTables and VLOOKUP .
12+ years
of experience handling financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
12+ years
of experience with
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, account reconciliation, and error identification .
10+ year
of experience with
SAP Finance (FI) , including financial postings, invoice processing, and integration with procurement/supply chain.
12+ years
supporting diverse financial operations.
Robust analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Currently
pursuing a CPA designation .
2+ years
applying financial audit, financial controls, reconciliation, or financial governance principles to large-scale data migration, data conversion, or ERP implementation projects.
Experience working in public-sector or highly regulated financial environments.
Experience supporting process improvement and financial systems governance.
