Role Description The Director of Development (Canada) is a part time, remote role responsible for leading and expanding Wellspring’s fundraising and philanthropic efforts within Canada. Day-to-day tasks include designing and implementing development strategies, cultivating and stewarding donor relationships, and overseeing planned and annual giving campaigns. The role involves preparing proposals, impact reports, and presentations, as well as hosting donor meetings and participating in virtual events to engage supporters.
The Director will monitor budgets related to fundraising activities, analyze campaign performance, and ensure alignment with organizational values and priorities.
Collaboration with the broader Wellspring team is expected to coordinate communications, refine messaging, and strengthen Wellspring’s presence among Canadian partners and donors.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Fundraising and Philanthropy, with a track record of securing and sustaining donor support.
- Proficiency in Planned Giving, including developing strategies for legacy gifts and long-term donor commitments.
- Experience with Annual Giving programs, including campaign planning, donor segmentation, and stewardship activities.
- Strong Budgeting skills to plan, monitor, and report on development-related financial targets and campaign performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor communications and presentations.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including individuals, foundations, and faith or community groups.
- Experience working in or with non-profit organizations, preferably in an international development or education context.
- High level of integrity, cultural humility, and alignment with Wellspring’s mission and values.
- Self-motivated and organized, able to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity and manage multiple priorities.
- Relevant post-secondary education in a field such as fundraising, non-profit management, business, communications, or a related discipline is an asset.
