This full-time Building Official 3 position is designed for candidates with extensive experience in field inspections. You will inspect both Part 3 and Part 9 buildings, ensuring safety and compliance with applicable codes. Effective communication and collaboration with partners in the building process will be vital.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out field inspections for multifamily and commercial buildings
• Review plans for compliance with building codes
• Provide guidance to builders throughout the construction process
• Document inspections and regulatory compliance
• Facilitate safety and welfare through enforcement
Requirements:
• BOABC Level 3 Certification required
• At least 5-8 years in a building official capacity
• Relevant diploma in Building Technology necessary
• Valid BC driver’s license for site inspections
• Capacity to pass a Police Information Check
