Become an Early Childhood Educator with the Aboriginal Head Start Association of BC in Nanaimo, focused on caring for children aged 3-5. This full time position emphasizes inclusivity and Indigenous cultural immersion. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating supportive, engaging learning environments informed by Indigenous principles and family values.
You will be responsible for developing child-led programming that fosters curiosity and connection among children and their communities. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with children, families, and fellow educators. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage daily in an inclusive childcare program
- Partner with families to guide child support strategies
- Facilitate integrative case management planning
- Design daily programming aligned with AHS and BC standards
- Incorporate Indigenous wellness perspectives in education
Requirements:
- Basic ECE credentials; ECE-SN preferred
- Must hold First Aid certification
- Minimum 2 years experience in early childhood settings
- Deep commitment to equity in education
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
