Job Summary

Finn Construction Ltd. is hiring experienced finishing excavator operators for heavy civil construction projects throughout Saskatchewan.

We are specifically looking for operators with substantial excavator experience who are capable of accurate finishing work, not just bulk excavation or production loading. Candidates should be comfortable working to grade, shaping slopes and ditches, completing detailed excavation, and working independently once given direction.

This position is best suited to an experienced operator who takes pride in producing accurate, efficient work and understands how their work fits into the overall construction process.

What You’ll Do

- Operate excavators safely and efficiently on civil construction projects
- Perform fine grading and finishing work
- Complete excavation, trenching and wet excavation
- Install culverts and drainage infrastructure
- Shape slopes, ditches and embankments
- Place riprap, granular material and other construction materials
- Excavate to grade and elevation using survey information
- Work around geotextile and other civil construction materials
- Use GPS machine control where applicable
- Assist with other site work when required

What We’re Looking For

- Significant excavator operating experience
- Proven ability to perform finishing-quality excavator work
- Ability to maintain grade and work accurately with limited supervision
- Experience with civil construction such as roadwork, culverts, drainage, ditching or slope work
- Ability to understand project requirements and construction sequencing
- Strong equipment care habits and ability to identify maintenance concerns
- Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work well as part of a small crew
- Comfortable with long workdays and extended periods working out of town




- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Experience with GPS machine control is preferred

Experience operating dozers, graders, skid steers or other heavy equipment is an asset, but strong finishing excavator experience is the priority for this position. Pay & Benefits

- $30.00 - $45.00/hr wage, depending on experience and demonstrated ability
- Significant overtime available during construction season
- Meals and lodging covered for out-of-town work

- Seasonal average of approximately 2,000+ hours (May–December)
- Winter work may be available depending on project load

Schedule & Travel Projects are located throughout Saskatchewan and frequently require out-of-town work. Operators should expect approximately 12-hour workdays on many projects, multiple consecutive days away from home, and extended stays at project locations when required.

These positions are primarily tied to the active construction season. Winter hours are not guaranteed.
