YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a Fall 2026 intern for the role of Technology Governance and Assurance Intern at our partner organization, a leading Canadian property and casualty insurance group with operations across Canada and international markets. The organization provides a broad range of insurance solutions for individuals, families, businesses, and communities.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting technology governance, risk management, assurance, compliance, and strategic technology initiatives. You will work closely with technology and business teams to assess risks and controls, monitor key metrics, support governance activities, and contribute to the successful delivery of technology initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Technology Risk and Control Assessments
- Assist in conducting technology risk and control assessments to identify potential risks, control gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of technology controls.
- Monitor and report on key technology risk, control, and assurance metrics.
- Technology Governance and Assurance




- Collaborate with technology and business teams to support compliance with internal policies, standards, and governance requirements.
- Support technology governance activities, including facilitating meetings, documenting decisions, tracking action items, and following up through to completion.
- Assist with assurance activities and contribute to the preparation of reporting and documentation for governance and oversight purposes.
- Technology Project and Initiative Support
- Support the reporting and management of technology initiatives by tracking project progress, milestones, deliverables, and outstanding tasks.
- Conduct research and contribute to small-scale technology initiatives, helping ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to contribute to the successful execution of the annual technology strategic plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Graduate-level (Master’s or higher) student from the University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, York University or Western University.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of IT tools or project management software is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced and evolving organization.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills in relation to data analysis and reporting.
- Solid presentation skills with the ability to create slides that effectively communicate key messages.
