Summary
The Family Support Worker provides outreach intervention services to families who are experiencing difficulties with parenting and who are potentially at risk of family breakdown.
Qualifications
· Minimal Human Service Worker Diploma with 5 years’ experience or A Bachelor of Social Work and two (2) years related experience.
· Knowledge and understanding of St’át’imc culture and ability to work with Aboriginal people.
Duties & Responsibilities
· strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
· robust conflict resolution skills.
· knowledge of community resources available to clients and their families and how to access them.
· The ability to use tact and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and complex issues.
· Proven crisis intervention skills.
· Work individually and with a team
· Responsible for records, file maintenance, and reporting.
· Must be willing to submit to and clear a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
· Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
