Job Purpose The Finance Analyst is an entry-level role responsible for providing analytical, reporting, and financial modelling support to the Finance team. This role supports budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and the preparation of business insights that guide decision-making across the organization. The Finance Analyst will work closely with senior members of the Finance team, contributing to the development of financial models, reporting packages, and process improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities (Finance Analyst)

- Assist in preparing monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and key performance insights.

- Support the development, updating, and maintenance of financial models (revenue, cost, labour, and operational forecasts).

- Contribute to the annual budgeting process, including gathering departmental inputs and preparing consolidated budget files.

- Prepare data and analysis to support quarterly reforecasts, scenario modelling, and cashflow projections.

- Conduct business case analysis for current and existing clients, supporting ROI assessments, value-opportunity modelling, and performance evaluations against client BAU.

- Conduct and support client pricing through bottoms-up cost modelling, gross-margin and sensitivity analysis, and preparation of pricing for new deals, renewals, and RFPs.

- Conduct business case analysis for new initiatives, supporting ROI assessments and cost-benefit modelling.

- Provide research and analytical support for board reporting, investor materials, leadership presentations, and other executive-level deliverables.

- Assist in improving Finance processes by streamlining reporting templates,



automating recurring tasks, maintaining recurring monthly cost reporting.and maintaining documentation.

- Support vendor management, including software contract onboarding and renewals, validating renewal figures, and tracking spend against budget.

- Support grant funding initiatives, prepare and submit monthly claims, and manage relationships with grant funding contacts

- Participate in ad hoc financial analysis projects as required.

- Other duties as assigned.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.

Experience

- 0–2 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or similar analytical role.

- Co-op, internship, or relevant project-based experience strongly preferred.

- Exposure to financial modelling, budgeting, or forecasting through coursework or practical experience.

Certifications

- None required.

- CPA, CFA, or similar designation in progress or future interest considered an asset, but not expected at this level.

Competencies

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills

- Strong Excel proficiency – comfortable working in and maintaining structured financial models, using multi-variable lookup and aggregation functions, and building scenario and sensitivity analysis.

- Ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly

- Solid understanding of accounting and financial principles

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

- Strong organizational and time-management skills

Working Conditions

- Open office environment (unless remote).

- May require additional hours during reporting periods or key deadlines.
