Job Overview The Oil Hauler is responsible for the secure and efficient transportation of crude oil and related petroleum products from a steam plant to designated terminals throughout Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will operate and maintain oil-hauling equipment while following all applicable safety, environmental, transportation, and company requirements.
Duties
- Safely operate crude-oil tanker trucks on highways, rural roads, lease roads, and production sites.
- Pick up and deliver crude oil according to scheduled routes and customer requirements.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment defects or maintenance requirements.
- Load and unload crude oil in accordance with company procedures and site-specific requirements.
- Monitor tank levels, valves, hoses, pumps, and related equipment during loading and unloading.
- Complete accurate manifests, tickets, load documentation, trip inspections, and electronic records.
- Follow Saskatchewan and federal transportation, hours-of-service, and cargo documentation requirements.
- Comply with all company health, safety, environmental, and emergency-response procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of volumes, locations, times, and deliveries.
- Conduct basic equipment troubleshooting and communicate mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe,
and professional truck and work area.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers and other drivers.
- Respond appropriately to spills, leaks, vehicle incidents, and other emergencies.
Skills
- Valid Class 1A driver's licence in Saskatchewan.
- Clean and acceptable driver's abstract.
- Previous commercial truck-driving experience; oilfield or tanker experience is an asset.
- Experience operating tractor-trailer combinations and/or tanker equipment.
- Knowledge of safe loading, unloading, and transportation procedures for crude oil.
- Strong understanding of defensive driving and commercial vehicle safety.
- Ability to perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Good communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow written procedures, dispatch instructions, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Physically capable of climbing truck and tank access areas, handling hoses and equipment, and working outdoors.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work extended hours.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental protection.
Pay: From $26.00 per hour Work Location: On the road
