Join our team at Crystal Lodge, where hospitality meets an energetic and team-driven setting in the heart of Whistler. As Front Office Supervisor, you will play a key role in shaping the guest experience from arrival to departure, leading a agile team across Front Desk, Bell, Ski Valet, and Night Audit.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences. You will act as the primary point of contact in the absence of a Manager on Duty (MOD), ensuring smooth daily operations, supporting your team, and upholding Crystal Lodge’s service standards.
What you Will Be Doing:
- Direct supervision over the Front Desk, Night Audit, Bell and Ski Valet employees when the Manager on Duty, Assistant Front Office Manager and Director of Guest Experience are absent (including formally acknowledging poor behavior up to but not including suspensions and terminations)
- Taking ownership of customer complaints and resolutions
- All administrative guest responsibilities included but not limited to checking in/out, activity bookings, valet assistance, taking guest reservations
- Assisting with training of all new employees included but not limited to on the job training and Emergency training
- Responsibilities as outlined in the Crystal Lodge Emergency Binder
- Incident management
- Detailed knowledge of RDP, LodgeNet, DOTN, WiFi, and Shaw knowing where to find answers during after-hour periods
- Maximize Incremental sales through achieving walk-in and up-sell targets and ensuring the front desk team does the same
- Lead and inspire individuals to develop a highly motivated, committed team
- Support Maintenance and Housekeeping employees in the absence of their Manager
- Monthly team meetings
- Create & encourage the Front Office team to meet or exceed Crystal Lodge Superstar goals
- Ensure night audit team are kept well informed of department objectives, new initiatives and policies
- Keep management notified of any trends emerging during after-hours periods (Shift reports)
- Resolve guest billing issues in absence of senior management
- Ability to cover Night Audit duties in the event of an unexpected absence
- Perform Valet (bike and car) as well as Bellman duties, as needed
- Incremental projects and responsibilities as assigned by AFOM, Director of Guest Experience or any other Senior Manager
- Support the Crystal Lodge’s environmental commitments, including responsible waste separation, water and energy conservations and participation in green initiatives
What We Are Looking For:
- 2-3 years' experience in customer service role (preference given to Hotel experience)
- Previous experience supervising a team
- Ability to use variety of computer applications
- Working knowledge of Whistler and surrounding area
- Passion for exceptional guest service
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to speak a second language is an asset
