Position Summary

The successful candidate will have a minimum of four (4) years of experience practicing criminal law and will handle a diverse caseload. The role involves managing files at all stages, from intake and bail to trial and sentencing.

Responsibilities

- Represent clients in criminal matters including bail hearings, trials, guilty pleas, and sentencing
- Appear regularly before the Ontario Court of Justice and, where applicable, the Superior Court of Justice
- Conduct legal research and prepare Charter applications, motions, submissions, and trial materials
- Draft clear and persuasive legal documents, including pleadings and written arguments




- Negotiate with Crown and Provincial Prosecutors to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients and provide strategic and timely legal advice
- Work collaboratively with other counsel and legal support staff

Qualifications

- Member in positive standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Minimum four (4) years of experience practicing criminal law
- Demonstrated courtroom and trial experience is a must
- Strong oral and written advocacy skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Compensation: $120,000.00- $150,000.00
- Job Type: Full-time, permanent
