Seeking a temporary 1.0 FTE District Counsellor based in Gold River, BC. This position emphasizes student advocacy, rapport-building, and effective communication over a short-term commitment. This temporary role is effective from September 1, 2026, to October 13, 2026, or until the return of the incumbent.
The successful candidate will engage in elementary and secondary school counselling, demonstrating an exemplary work ethic and teamwork. Strength in problem-solving and conflict resolution is crucial, along with familiarity with Graduation Program requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide elementary and secondary school counselling services
- Establish dialogue with community agencies and resources
- Support the development of IEPs and Behavioural Plans
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Facilitate positive social and emotional development in students Requirements:
- BC Certified with a Master's in Counselling
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's license
- Solid communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with student information systems
- Capable of traveling throughout the District Utilize your counselling expertise to advocate for students and enhance their well-being in Gold River.
