Allied health and social service organizations are also on site, further improving community access to essential supports. Our Beaverton satellite site ensures access across the municipality.With new funding to expand our role as a health hub in North Durham, we are growing our team and enhancing services so individuals and families can access the care they need close to home in a supportive, inclusive setting.Brock CHC is seeking a Family Physician who shares our passion for community-focused health, and is motivated to make a lasting difference in a rural setting where their work will truly matter. With a salaried model of compensation, physicians benefit from stable income, no overhead or staffing costs, no OHIP billing requirements, reduced administrative burden, and paid vacation and benefits.In addition to a favourable work-life balance, physicians work as members of an interdisciplinary team that includes nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, physiotherapist, dietitian, diabetes educators, outreach workers and administrative staff.Scope of WorkProvide high-quality, patient-centred urgent care, supporting timely access to assessment,



diagnosis and treatment for patients presenting with urgent and episodic medical concernsas required by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario standards of practiceManage a broad range of acute conditions within the scope of primary care, recognizing and appropriately referring patients requiring emergency or specialized careProvide appropriate follow-up, referrals, investigations and coordination of care as requiredProvide patient education, health promotion and preventative care as appropriate during urgent care encountersMaintain accurate, timely and confidential medical documentation in accordance with skilled and organizational standardsStrive to achieve provincial performance targets set by Ontario HealthPromote a team-based, integrated approach to primary care that considers the patient's physical, mental, social and environmental health needsShare responsibility for the on-call coverage (telephone only) offered by Brock CHCProvide coverage for other primary care practitioners when requiredWork collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical secretaries, allied health professionals and other members of the interdisciplinary CHC teamDegree in Family Medicine from a recognized university and currently licensed to practice in the province of Ontario by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of OntarioCertification in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) preferredCurrent CMPA or equivalent professional liability coverageAlignment with the Centre's values – equity, confidentiality, compassion, collaboration, responsiveness, education and respectExperience as a Family Physician working with all ages in a community health settingExperience working in rural, vulnerable or medically complex populations (preferred)Demonstrated leadership in promoting a shared responsibility for professional practice and developmentProficiency with EMR systemsCommitment to patient-centred, equitable and accessible health careStrong time management and organizational skillsExcellent benefits including paid vacation, paid sick time and HOOPP. #J-18808-Ljbffr
