Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (168 hours per rotation)
Travel: Paid flights (charter out of Montreal) | Hotel provided | Per diem for travel days
Matrix Mechanical is seeking a Journeyman/Red Seal Mobile Equipment Mechanic (or 2nd/3rd/4th-year apprentice) with a minimum of 3 years solid hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting heavy mobile and underground production equipment. This position is located in Nunavut with charter travel from Montreal.
Equipment Experience Required
Technicians must have experience on the following equipment:
- Sandvik LH514 / LH517 Loader
- Sandvik TH551 Truck
- Sandvik production drilling equipment
- Maclean UG development equipment
- Bolters
- Cassette truck (and similar UG development units)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns to support production
- Complete mechanical and hydraulic repairs as required
- Inspect and maintain critical systems to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
- Follow site safety procedures, policies, and work instructions
- Coordinate with supervision and operations regarding equipment readiness and downtime

Tickets/Certificates Required
- Heavy Equipment Technician diploma
- Certified Welder
- Journeyman/Red Seal considered (Red Seal is an asset)
- CWB certification is an asset
- UG Common Core is an asset (not required)
Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years as a licensed tradesperson in the mining industry
- Apprentices may be considered (2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year) where experience aligns with the required equipment background
