Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Health Educator - Staff $36.518 to $44.655

: Reporting to the Team Lead/Manager, the Health Educator plays a crucial role in the development of health care plans and ensures the inclusion of social, psychological, emotional and physical health of First Nations and Métis patients. The Educator will provide individuals, families, and groups with the psychosocial support needed to cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses.

Services include: advising family members, providing patient education and support, and making referrals to appropriate services. The Educator may also provide care; case management or interventions designed to promote health, support cultural/traditional practices, and address barriers to access healthcare. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Knowledge and Abilities

- Knowledge of Non-Insured Health Advantages and Jordan's Principle.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability for competent case management practice
- Ability to show professional maturity and leadership in clinical practice.
- Knowledge of Ministry of Social Services policies, procedures, and regulations




- strong commitment to professional dev. & ongoing learning for self and others.
- Knowledge of all levels of government (fed, prov, mun, First Nations and Métis)
- Knowledge of the services gov provides in relation to jurisdictional resp.

Other Information

- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a vehicle available for work.
- HSAS seniority in the SHA will be considered under the selection criteria
- Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
- Preference to candidates who are fluent in Indigenous languages to the region.
- this position will be located at the Urgent Care Centre (UCC) in Regina
