Role Description This full-time, on-site Heavy Duty Mechanic role is based in Edmonton, AB.
The Heavy Duty
Mechanic will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment, including systems focused on emissions reduction and engine optimization. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting vehicles, identifying mechanical and electronic issues, completing scheduled and unscheduled repairs, and documenting all work performed. The role involves collaborating with technical and engineering teams to support installation and service of DTI products, ensuring all work meets safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
The mechanic will also assist with troubleshooting complex issues, advising customers and internal staff on equipment condition, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in equipment maintenance and vehicle maintenance for heavy-duty commercial units.
- Demonstrated ability in equipment repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Experience working with heavy equipment and commercial vehicles in a shop or field environment.
- Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or equivalent (journeyperson or registered apprentice preferred).
- Knowledge of diesel engines, emission control systems, and engine optimization technologies is an asset.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports using modern tools and software.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and accurate documentation of work performed.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in varied shop and vehicle environments.
