Jardeg is currently recruiting for a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice 3rd-4th Year to work with Technical Workforce Inc. at our Bonnyville Shop. At this time, applicants local to Bonnyville and surrounding areas will be considered.

Responsibilities

- Assisting with maintenance and repairs of all civil construction and automotive fleet equipment, including dozers, articulated trucks, excavators, service vehicles, etc.
- Assisting with running repairs and maintenance work.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
- Preventive maintenance and services.
- Complete work according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Work closely with customers maintenance and operations personnel.
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
- Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.




- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations.
- Ability to understand hydraulic and electronic schematics.

Qualifications

- Registered 3rd or 4th year Apprentice in the Heavy Equipment Technician trade.
- Minimum 3 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment in a field or a yard.
- Strong interest in automotive equipment maintenance is highly valued, as the majority of workflow consists of supporting automotive fleet.
- Field experience is considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of protected work practices and job site protocols.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Reliable transportation to get to work.
