Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety
- Train, mentor, and evaluate custodial staff to promote effective work practices and professional growth
- Schedule cleaning tasks using time management skills to optimize coverage and reduce downtime
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment, ensuring proper handling and maintenance for safety and longevity
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, perform or coordinate repairs involving facilities maintenance skills
- Implement commercial cleaning procedures aligned with health regulations and company policies
- Communicate effectively with team members, management,
and external vendors to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues promptly
- Manage heavy lifting tasks safely when handling supplies or equipment that require physical strength
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, maintenance activities, and safety compliance
Experience
- Proven custodial or housekeeping experience in a commercial or hospitality environment with a strong understanding of cleaning standards and procedures
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic facilities maintenance tasks
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively with excellent communication skills
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform manual cleaning duties as needed
- Customer service orientation with a focus on creating positive experiences for building occupants or visitors
- Prior experience in managing custodial staff or housekeeping operations is highly preferred
