We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic HR Intern to join our Human Resources team. This internship offers hands-on experience across talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, and compliance while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment &
• Talent Acquisition
- Assist with job postings on various job boards, social media platforms, and recruitment channels
- Source and screen candidates for open positions
- Conduct initial phone screenings and schedule interviews with hiring managers
- Track candidate progress through the recruitment process using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Maintain and update candidate databases and talent pipelines
- Support employer branding initiatives and recruitment marketing campaigns
- Participate in career fairs, networking events, and campus recruitment activities
- Assist in preparing recruitment reports and hiring metrics
Onboarding & • Employee Experience
- Support the onboarding process for new hires
- Prepare welcome packages and onboarding documentation
- Coordinate orientation sessions and new employee introductions
- Ensure employee files and required documentation are completed accurately and on time
- Assist in employee engagement and recognition initiatives
HR Administration & • Support
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases
- Support HR projects, policy updates, and process improvements
- Assist with employee relations activities and administrative HR tasks
- Help prepare HR reports, presentations, and documentation
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed
HR Systems & • Data Management
- Assist with maintaining employee information in HR systems and platforms
- Support data entry, reporting, and record management activities
- Gain exposure to HR technologies,
Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and HRIS platforms
Compliance & • Best Practices
- Ensure confidentiality of employee and candidate information
- Assist in ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies
- Stay informed about current HR trends, recruitment strategies, and industry best practices
QualificationsRequired
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
- Strong interest in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
Preferred / Good to Have
- Previous internship, co-op, volunteer, or administrative experience in HR or recruitment
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or HR software
- Knowledge of Canadian employment standards and HR practices
- Progress toward CHRP designation is considered an asset
- Experience with social media recruiting and employer branding initiatives
