Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Quebec Human Rights & Constitutional Law Advocate to champion justice, equality, and fundamental freedoms. In this vital role, you will leverage your legal expertise to promote human rights, defend constitutional principles, and support marginalized communities. Your proactive approach will drive impactful advocacy initiatives, research, and legal interventions that uphold the rule of law and protect individual rights.

Responsibilities

- Monitoring compliance by Quebec courts / tribunals opposing lawyers rights of self-represented litigants to a fair trial based upon the affirmation of civil rights and natural justice.
- Engage in negotiation processes with government agencies, legal bodies, or advocacy groups to advance human rights initiatives or resolve conflicts effectively.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients, community organizations, or stakeholders on constitutional rights and human rights protections.
- Monitor ongoing legal developments related to human rights laws and constitutional amendments to ensure advocacy strategies remain current and effective.
- Represent clients or communities in court proceedings or public hearings with confidence and professionalism.




- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop advocacy campaigns that raise awareness and promote policy reforms aligned with human rights standards.

Requirements

- Proven experience in human rights law, Quebec Charter / constitutional law, or related legal fields with a robust understanding of relevant international standards.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Canlii..org and LexisNexis for case law analysis and legislative tracking.
- Strong civil litigation skills before courts and tribunals.
- Passion for human and civil rights toward a just society for all.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB, JD or equivalent); additional specialization or certification in human rights law is preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate arguments convincingly in courtrooms, meetings, or public forums.
