Drive land use planning efforts with the Islands Trust as a Hybrid Island Planner, balancing home and in office work. Focus on supporting Local Trust Committees and community collaboration. In this role, you will oversee planning challenges for one or more Local Trust Committees while partnering with local communities and agencies like First Nations.
Your responsibilities will include managing planning applications and legal documentation, acting independently to ensure timely project completion in alignment with best practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage planning projects for Local Trust Committees
- Review and process complex planning applications
- Draft covenants and legal documents with advice
- Facilitate representation at different community meetings
- Uphold best practices in service delivery and community relations Requirements:
- Graduate degree in land use planning or related field
- At least 5 years of relevant land use planning experience
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Preference for experience working with First Nations
