IT Auditor – Contract

Role Overview The IT Auditor will join the Internal Audit team and report to the Senior Manager, IT Audit. This role will support risk-based IT audits and statutory financial audit support engagements across applications, infrastructure, and technology processes, with a primary focus on IT General Controls (ITGCs).

The successful candidate will assess technology risks and controls, execute audit testing, document results, and communicate findings to business and technology stakeholders. The role will also support integrated audits by evaluating technology risks and controls within broader business processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute IT audit and advisory engagements in accordance with established Internal Audit methodology, professional standards, and procedures.
- Perform risk assessments covering technology, security, operational, and regulatory risks.
- Assess the design and operating effectiveness of IT General Controls (ITGCs), including:
- Access Security
- Change Management
- IT Operations
- Program Development / SDLC
- Conduct walkthroughs, interviews, evidence reviews, control testing, and sampling.
- Evaluate technology and business processes to identify risks, control gaps, and deficiencies.
- Assess audit evidence and determine the impact, significance, and root cause of identified issues.
- Prepare clear and well-supported audit workpapers, observations, and reports.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations to audit leadership and business/technology stakeholders.
- Support integrated audits by assessing technology risks and controls within business processes.
- Participate in management action plan validation, remediation tracking, and follow-up activities.
- Build effective working relationships with business, technology, and audit stakeholders.

Must-Have Qualifications IT Audit & Controls

- 3–5+ years of experience in IT Audit, IT Risk, IT Compliance, Internal Audit, or a related assurance function.




- Hands-on experience auditing IT General Controls (ITGCs), including Access Security, Change Management, IT Operations, and SDLC controls.
- Experience assessing control design and operating effectiveness and identifying control deficiencies.
- Strong experience with risk assessments, walkthroughs, interviews, evidence review, control testing, and sampling.
- Ability to evaluate technology and business processes, identify risks and control gaps, and assess deficiencies.
- Understanding of the relationship between ITGCs and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), including systems supporting financial reporting.
- Experience preparing audit workpapers, findings, observations, and reports using established audit methodologies.

Education

- University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Nice to Have

- CISA, CIA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification.
- Currently pursuing a relevant professional designation.
- Experience within financial services, asset management, wealth management, or another regulated industry.
- Experience with data analytics, data extraction, and sampling techniques used in audit testing and issue validation.
