Standard Job DescriptionPerforms technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. (Lockheed Martin)'s main project sites (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth),
opportunities are available at all sites for supporting Naval Combat Systems Programs and Proposal Capture activities.The candidate will participate as a Systems Engineering member of the naval development team in a multi-disciplined team setting working on the total engineering life cycle from specification, design, development, integration and test, deployment, maintenance and field trouble shooting for their responsible Subsystem within the large scale high complexity naval platform systems. The subsystems are grouped by warfare area: Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW), Underwater Warfare (UWW), Electronic Warfare (EW) and Communication Systems(Comms).ResponsibilitiesLeading system and platform integration activities for shipboard CIS, including interface designParticipating in requirements compliance assessments, and planning/coordinating requirements verification activities during design and implementation phasesMaintain technical specifications and statements of work requirementsCollaborating with customers, ship design team, subcontractors and other stakeholders to identify and resolve integration and installation issues encountered during CIS design developmentProviding reviews of technical data related to the CIS system design, arrangements, installation, and verification activities; providing comments; and recommending acceptance/rejection of document deliveriesCoordinating synthesis of government, customer,
and subcontract furnished information to support whole-ship design activitiesProviding input to design documentation and deliverablesPreparing change proposals based on customer and ship designer inputsPreparing and submitting/presenting engineering change requests for change board approval; coordinating implementation of approved changesContributing to the Subcontract milestone activities such as Fact-findings, Kick-off Meeting, Design Reviews, and Design/Product AcceptanceMaintaining System Architecture and DesignFollowing systems engineering processes and best practices.Basic QualificationsPossess a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in software, hardware, systems, mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering or a related disciplineMinimum 12-15 years of relevant professional experience with Communication (Internal/External/Satcom) and Digital Data Information Systems.
