Role Description The IT Business Operations Specialist is a contract, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC, supporting day-to-day technology and operational needs across the local business unit. This role is responsible for administering and monitoring network and IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and secure access for team members. The specialist will perform routine troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues, coordinate incident resolution, and escalate complex problems as needed.





Daily responsibilities include implementing and maintaining network security controls, handling user access requests, and documenting operational procedures and configurations. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing responsive customer service to internal stakeholders, and contributing to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Information Technology and experience supporting business operations in an enterprise or mid-size environment.
- Hands-on skills in Network Administration and Network Security, including configuration, monitoring, and access control management.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network layers, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with a focus on clear communication, timely response, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Experience with ticketing systems, ITIL-based service processes, and documentation of technical procedures and standards.
- Working knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and collaboration tools used in corporate environments.
- Relevant post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or similar credentials are an asset.
- Ability to work on-site in Vancouver, BC, manage priorities independently, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
