Reporting to theManager of Help Desk and User Experience, the IT User and System SupportTechnician provides assistance to Vanier College Information Technology Usersand maintenance to technology systems.The technician is part of our frontline team responsible for servicedelivery to our community. The technical duties are related to the overallorganization and operation of computer labs, computer networks, and associatedsoftware.
More specifically, but not limited to, the Technician:
- Assumes responsibility for the overall operation ofcomputers, networks, and associated software and equipment according to the Collegepriorities and policies, and the standards and practices of informationtechnology at the College;
- Receives, processes, and completes incidents andservice requests on the college’s ITSM platform;
- Troubleshoots classroom IT issues for students andteachers;
- Provides IT support to students and staff members atthe IT Center counter;
- Provides students support for Omnivox and Microsoft365 access and MFA;
- Monitors security of the physical facilities, network,and computer/software of College departments;
- Monitors and evaluates current developments in thearea of responsibility and makes recommendations for anticipated futurerequirements;
- Participates actively, with their Manager, in managingpriorities in order to maximize service performance as per standards;
- Participates in the employee onboarding andoffboarding process;
- Engages with the community as per a service approach;
- Provides and maintains documentation for the equipmentand services under their responsibility;
- Participates as required in the Help Desk and othercollege-wide information technology technical support services and/orcoordinates other support staff in these activities;
- Participates in the maintenance and upgrading of serviceprocesses and systems.

Schedule:Mondayto Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 35 hours per week. Flexibility to work until 10:30pm on occasion, as required.
