What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities

- Installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of heating equipment both NG and LP. also working with regulators and heating units in residential, commercial and industrial establishments.
- Testing and replacement of defective heating equipment.
- Be able to work alone with direction from Journeyman Gasfitter.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with a wide variety of customers and internal resources.
- Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment.
- Install, maintain and service gas heating units and their components, such as burners, valves, and automatic controls.
- Test and replace defective equipment or components.
- Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices.
- Attend to gas escape calls.
- Prepare reports on work performed and condition of equipment.
- Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems.
- May repair and service gas appliances and related equipment.




- Check equipment for damage upon return, report damage and fill out service tags for all returned equipment.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle.

Qualifications And Requirements What You’ll Bring to the Team

- Must have completed at least one year of a Gas Fitter apprenticeship program. Journeyperson ticket is an asset.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair a variety of heating equipment in the shop or field.
- Experience with temporary construction heaters (direct and indirect fired, hydronic, electrical etc.) would be an asset.
- Knowledge of designing and installing temporary heating systems at construction sites using natural gas, propane and diesel equipment would be an asset.
- Knowledge of the safety regulations, codes and practices regarding LP/NG use, equipment servicing, permitting and installation at construction sites would be an asset.
- Ability to read/understand building and mechanical plans, job specifications and other technical documents would be an asset.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with abstract in good standing.

$27.00 - $34.00 per hour
