Job Summary

Tyler’s Tree Services Inc. is looking for a motivated Junior Climber / Arborist Ground Person to join our growing tree-care team.

This is a hands-on position designed for someone who already has some experience in tree service, climbing, landscaping, forestry, or similar outdoor work and wants to continue developing their career in arboriculture.

You’ll work as an important part of our ground crew while progressively taking on climbing responsibilities based on your experience, training, and demonstrated ability.

Our goal is to develop the right candidate into a confident and capable Production Climber.

- Trees over homes and structures
- Tight-access removals
- Trees near utilities

We take pride in providing high-quality work while maintaining a professional, safety-focused and team-oriented work environment. What You'll Be DoingGround Operations
- Assist with job-site setup, organization, and cleanup
- Support climbers during pruning and removal operations
- Manage ropes, rigging lines, tag lines, and lowering operations
- Operate chainsaws, wood chippers, blowers, and other tree-service equipment
- Drag and process brush, limbs, and logs
- Assist with loading and moving wood and equipment
- Maintain an organized and effective work area
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain awareness of overhead, equipment, traffic, and ground hazards
- Follow company procedures, PPE requirements, and safety standards

Climbing & Arborist Development Depending on your current experience and demonstrated ability, you will also:
- Climb and work aloft within your skill level
- Assist with pruning operations from the canopy
- Perform smaller removals and progressively more technical tree work
- Develop modern climbing techniques and work-positioning skills
- Assist with aerial rigging and controlled lowering
- Develop safe and efficient chainsaw use while aloft




- Inspect and maintain climbing ropes, saddles, hardware, and equipment
- Develop tree identification, pruning, rigging, and removal knowledge
- Work alongside experienced climbers and crew leaders to develop your skills

Your climbing responsibilities will increase as you demonstrate competency, safety, efficiency, and good judgment.

What We're Looking For

Required:

- Valid Ontario G-Class driver's licence
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a crew
- Strong safety awareness
- Willingness to perform both ground and climbing responsibilities
- Professional attitude when working around clients and their properties

Preferred:

- 1+ year of tree service, climbing, forestry, landscaping, or related outdoor experience
- Previous climbing experience or arborist/climbing training
- Chainsaw experience
- Familiarity with ropes, knots, rigging, and lowering systems
- Tree and woody plant identification knowledge
- First Aid/CPR
- ISA Certified Arborist or Ontario 444A/444B training or certification
- DZ licence

Pay & Benefits Pay: $22.00–$32.00 per hour

Starting wage will be based on experience, training, climbing ability, certifications, and demonstrated competency.
