S Educational Assistant - Ardmore School

We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Educational Assistant commencing with the start of the school year. This assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. This position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.

Ardmore School is located in the Hamlet of Ardmore with approximately 110 students in grades K to 8.

Preference will be given to applicants who have

- Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
- Knowledge and experience with behaviouralstrategies
- Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting
- Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
- Knowledge and experience in alternate communications strategies
- Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs
- Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Training and skills that would be an asset include

- Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation
- SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
