About the Role

Kinton Ramen is opening a brand-new location in Downtown Burlington, and we're looking for a Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house team from opening day. You'll bring hands-on culinary leadership, mentor a team of cooks and BOH staff, and make sure every bowl that leaves the kitchen meets Kinton Ramen's standard of excellence.

This is a rare prospect to help build a kitchen team and culture from scratch as part of a recent restaurant launch.

What You'll Do

- Lead day-to-day back-of-house operations alongside the General Manager
- Own key financials and KPIs in partnership with the management team
- Manage labour and operating costs through planning, budgeting, purchasing, and inventory control
- Execute the menu to spec — from supplier through to the guest — including seasonal changes
- Perform hands-on culinary tasks and lead staff through service
- Evaluate food quality across prep and finished menu items
- Run line checks and recipe reviews, giving clear, constructive feedback
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop a motivated BOH team
- Build out BOH standard operating procedures
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness, ordering, inventory, and receiving processes
- Uphold all health, food safety,



and hygiene standards

What You Bring
- 2+ years of culinary leadership experience as a Cook or Kitchen Manager
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Japanese culinary experience is an asset
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- Food Safety certification required; Responsible Alcohol Service an asset
- Strong English communication skills (Japanese an asset)
- A track record of hiring, coaching, and motivating teams
- Sharp attention to detail and strong conflict-management skills
- Availability for flexible shifts — mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays (min. 30 hrs/week)
- Comfort with the physical demands of the role (standing up to 8 hours in hot/cold conditions, lifting up to 40 lbs)
