About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Growth Officer to spearhead its global growth agenda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and owning a multi-year growth strategy, with a focus on fundraising, strategic partnerships, and market positioning. This pivotal role demands a leader with a proven track record in driving significant revenue growth within a mission-driven organization, and the ability to connect various elements of the growth strategy into a coherent and effective approach. The Chief Growth Officer will be expected to personally originate and close important funding and partnership commitments, as well as to build and lead a high-performing, cross-cultural team. The role requires a strategic thinker, an exceptional closer, and a leader who is intellectually serious about evidence and impact,
and who can engage with sophisticated funders on a technical level while also being a compelling advocate for the organization's mission.
Candidates for the Chief Growth Officer position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' experience, with at least 7-10 years in executive leadership roles, and a strong background in fundraising, business development, or a related field. The role is suited to a competitive builder with a strong sense of market chance and the ability to identify and pursue non-obvious growth paths. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or equivalent experience, and a proven ability to lead through change, build resilient teams, and foster cross-functional collaboration. Experience in international development, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, and a diverse mix of funding sources, including institutional philanthropy, foundations, and government, is highly desirable. The Chief Growth Officer will be expected to travel regularly, including to program countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, and must demonstrate a commitment to the values of the organization, including inclusivity, equity, and accessibility.
