Role Description This is a part-time hybrid role for a Licensed Insurance Agent based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area, with a mix of in-person and work-from-home activities.
The Licensed Insurance
Agent will meet with clients to assess their financial protection needs, recommend appropriate insurance products, and explain policy features in clear, accessible language. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and following up with potential clients, conducting needs analyses, preparing quotes, and completing applications while ensuring regulatory compliance. The role also involves maintaining robust client relationships through ongoing service, policy reviews,
and timely response to inquiries and claims-related questions.
The Licensed Insurance
Agent will collaborate with the broader GFI team, participate in training and development sessions, and contribute to the organization’s mission of helping families build long-term financial security.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in insurance sales and client acquisition, with a focus on building trusted, long-term relationships.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of insurance products and insurance brokerage practices, including policy structures and regulatory requirements.
- Candidates should possess foundational understanding of finance and financial planning principles relevant to risk management and family protection.
- Candidates should possess strong customer service skills, including active listening, clear communication, and problem-solving.
- Valid insurance license (or clear path to licensing) in British Columbia or eligibility to obtain one promptly.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage a flexible schedule, and handle multiple client engagements concurrently.
- Strong ethical standards, professionalism, and commitment to serving diverse communities in a non-discriminatory and inclusive manner.
- Previous experience in insurance, financial services, or sales is an asset, but motivated candidates from other backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
