Temporary Full-Time Supported Living Homes Supervisor
This position is anticipated for 12 months with possibility of extension
R eporting to the Manager of Clinical Services and Supported Living Homes, this position will provide leadership and supervision in a team environment, for staff working in a variety of supported living home locations.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Providing supervision to support and coach, ensuring the implementation of the highest possible standards of service delivery.
- Attending staff meetings and offering constructive suggestions for improvement of service.
- Fostering good staff morale and loyalty. Maintaining visibility, open communication and a sense of approachability within and outside the agency.
- Providing constructive performance feedback to others and holding others accountable for meeting requirements and the results they have committed to accomplish.
- Promoting and encouraging development of staff.
- Ensuring compliance with the Collective Agreement.
- Establishing and maintaining a valuable rapport with all staff within the organization, people supported, families/ guardians and encouraging family involvement where appropriate.
- Maintaining liaison contact with the Community Participation Support program, community agencies, service providers and other professionals involved with the people we support.
- Monitoring and promoting practices and conditions that ensure the safety of the people we support, volunteers and staff.
- Monitoring programs and sites effectively in relation to quality and dignity of support being provided by staff to individuals and ensuring that the changing needs of individuals are met.
- Monitoring staff hours, staff expenses and any additional expense lines,
thereby ensuring the effective use of all resources and compliance with budget requirements.
- Problem solving and collaborating with others, both internally and externally in seeking solutions to a variety of day-to-day situational and ongoing issues.
- Maintaining good housekeeping practices to ensure the workplace is maintained in a clean, safe and secure manner.
- Promoting and adhering to all agency policies and procedures and all legislative requirements.
To be considered as a candidate, the successful applicant must have the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- Graduate of DSW Program or related educational background in Social Services, including Pharmacology
- Minimum of 2 years supervising experience
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff
- Excellent organization, communication and people skills
- Collaborative working style together with excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate support requirements and respond to emergency situations including evenings and weekends
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a large group of staff, knowledge and capable in applying principles of coaching, mentoring and performance management effectively
- Proven ability to work in collaboration with other departments
- Ability to work in a computerized environment
- Commitment to self-directed planning process and philosophy
- Current valid G driver’s license and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment
Hours of Work : Scheduled for thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hours per week, with a requirement to participate in the on-call rotation, flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Hourly Compensation : $37.30
