Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for planning the transportation of incoming and outgoing materials to meet customer delivery commitments. The position will also be responsible for monitoring customs transactions.
French and English bilingual communication skills are mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and optimize the shipment of tooling to customers.
- Coordinate and optimize the transportation of incoming materials from different countries by sea and air.
- Proactively establish customs classifications.
- Support and work closely with the Procurement team to ensure on-time receipt of goods, from supplier pickup through delivery to the site.
- Support and work closely with the Project Management team to ensure on-time delivery of goods to customers.
- Work with the Production Planner to schedule shipments while considering the capacity of the shipping team.
- Monitor and support customs transactions related to import and export activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in transportation and customs, including import/export activities.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms.
- Strong knowledge of HS codes.
- Knowledge of transportation documentation requirements.
- Understanding of import/export regulations for sea, road, and air transportation.
- Knowledge of dangerous goods transportation requirements in Canada and the United States.
- Experience working in an industrial setting.
- Basic knowledge of an ERP system; SAP experience is preferred.
- Strong French and English communication skills are mandatory, as the role requires communication with international customers, suppliers, and carriers.
